The Mount Vernon Triangle Community Improvement District (MVT CID) has hired Bill McLeod to lead the revitalization of this emerging neighborhood east of the new convention center.
“We have moved from a start-up to a full-service Community Improvement District,” stated Gerry Widdicombe, board member of the Mount Vernon Triangle CID. “We are excited that Bill is on board to help roll out safety services in the spring.” Mr. McLeod was the executive director of Barracks Row Main Street, a nonprofit organization charged with revitalizing 8th Street SE on Capitol Hill, for four and a half years. While there, Mr. McLeod managed a streetscape construction project, and helped attract 43 new businesses, winning the 2005 Great American Main Street Award from the National Trust for Historic Preservation. “I am so excited to be working for the Mount Vernon Triangle Community Improvement District,” said Bill McLeod. “I have watched this neighborhood change over the years and I have a real passion for it.”
Mount Vernon Triangle Community Improvement District currently provides clean services to the Mount Vernon Triangle. In the month of December, 657 bags of trash were collected, which accounted for 19,710 pounds of rubbish removed from the neighborhood.
