Busboys and Poets Opens In Mount Vernon Triangle

The noted restaurant, now part of the CityVista development, is the third location for owner Andy Shallal and will include an expansive outdoor patio.
“Almost overnight the Mount Vernon Triangle area has been transformed into a vibrant, 24-hour destination – first with the openings of 5th Street Ace Hardware and the urban lifestyle Safeway, and now with the launch of the two-story Busboys and Poets,” said Jeff Miller, Chairman of Mount Vernon Triangle Community Improvement District. “Not only will these amenities serve the hundreds of new residents in Mount Vernon Triangle, but it will also draw people from all over the District of Columbia.”
Busboys and Poets is known as a restaurant with broad appeal because of its modest prices, creative décor, diverse clientele, and wide variety of events. Entrees vary from meatloaf to crab cakes and range from $8 to $21. Events will include art openings, poetry readings, lectures, book signings, fundraisers, and receptions – serving as a gathering place for the area. The space will take on the unique character of the neighborhood that is Mount Vernon Triangle.
