Buddha Bar to Open in Mount Vernon Triangle

Washington, D.C., February 10, 2009 – Buddha Bar has signed a lease for the first floor at 455 Massachusetts Avenue, NW in Mount Vernon Triangle. The building is owned and managed by ASB Real Estate Investments, a division of ASB Capital Management LLC and Penzance Companies. This 9,400 square-foot restaurant and bar will be the place to be spotted in DC and is famous for its sushi, Pacific Rim cuisine, and traditional Chinese dishes with a French influence.

“We are so excited to have Buddha Bar open in Mount Vernon Triangle,” said Bill McLeod, executive director of Mount Vernon Triangle Community Improvement District. “Buddha Bar is an internationally renown eatery that will serve as a draw to this dynamic neighborhood.”

The deal was landlord represented by Bill Dickinson, Melissa Webb, and Will Collins of The Rappaport Companies. Bill Miller and Alex Walker of Transwestern represented the Buddha Bar. 455 Massachusetts Avenue is a new 12-story, 250,000 square foot, Class-A office building with a unique glass façade that complements the architecture of the area. Its exquisite interior is appointed with polished stone and dark wood finishes.

Created by George V Entertainment, the Paris based restaurant has 10 locations around the globe, including one in New York. Buddha Bar presents diners with a unique cuisine, combining the bold flavors of Asia with delicate French essences. The menu features the highest quality ingredients served family style. Buddha Bar is a melding of eclectic Asian decor, hypnotizing music, and tantalizing food creating an unforgettable experience that will lure guests back again and again.
