SUMMARY:HEMPHILL: William Christenberry Art Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:William Christenberry\, November 10 – December 19. The artist is renowned for his evocative vision of the decay and nobility of the rural south’s landscape and architecture. This show presents three sculptures with related photographs\, works on paper\, and prints. \n— \nThis fall and winter\, HEMPHILL will showcase various artworks by contemporary and historic artists. Each presentation of work will be introduced by a short video that explores aspects of its creation\, provides information about the artist\, and surveys key details. The videos will premiere online\, in an invitation-only Zoom gathering\, followed by broader distribution through various digital platforms\, social media outlets\, and the gallery website. Artworks featured in the videos will be installed in the gallery for in-person viewing. \nAll visits to the gallery are by appointment only to maintain social distancing standards\, and to ensure the safety of visitors. HEMPHILL encourages appointments by individuals\, families\, and small groups. There will be no overlapping appointments; the gallery will be exclusively for the appointed guests. HEMPHILL has found this arrangement offers a richer\, focused and more gratifying experience.

SUMMARY:2020 Brickie Awards
DESCRIPTION:On Thursday\, December 5\, Ward 6 Councilmember Charles Allen is hosting the 2020 Brickie Awards! Councilmember Allen is the District Council representative for Mount Vernon Triangle\, which is located in Council Ward 6. Of course\, because this is 2020\, we can’t get together like we normally do to celebrate. BUT\, there’s no way a measly little global pandemic can stop the Brickies…from happening safely and virtually. \nThe event will uplift and recognize some of our neighbors in Ward 6 who have gone above and beyond this year. The Brickies is named for the award given by Councilmember Allen to recognize some of our neighbors and neighborhood businesses that have had a big impact on our community. And yes\, it’s an actual brick. In 2018\, the MVT CID was honored to accept the Community Organization Brickie Award in honor of our ongoing commitment to keeping Mount Vernon Triangle clean and safe as well as recent cultural and open space activation efforts. \nPlease RSVP if you plan to log in – the event is free\, as always. Live captioning will be provided.

SUMMARY:Take MVT CID's 2020 Neighborhood Perception Survey
DESCRIPTION:Our Neighborhood Perception Survey covering calendar year 2020 is now open and available for your feedback. Distributed annually\, the survey is MVT CID’s most important tool for measuring the point-in-time sentiments of Mount Vernon Triangle’s residents\, office workers and visitors and allows us to compare trends across multiple years. This survey is much shorter than previous years due to the robust data gathering effort we conducted in August in support of our organizational strategic plan update. However\, your current perceptions remain extremely valuable\, and as an added incentive for your time five respondents will receive a $50 gift card to a Mount Vernon Triangle retail business of their choice. \nSo please take a few minutes to let us know how we’re doing\, thank you in advance for your time and participation\, and don’t hesitate to contact us with questions or feedback about the survey.
