Friday June 25, 2021

Whether you’re looking to celebrate the Fourth of July from home or get out and about for brunch post-fireworks, Mélange and dLeña in MVT have you covered! Check out Washingtonian Magazine’s recent profile of each restaurant’s Independence Day offerings:

  • dLeña is serving July 5 brunch for those looking to continue the celebrations after the fireworks! The all-you-can-eat-and-drink brunch includes tacos, egg dishes, tuna ceviche, shrimp enchiladas, and more, all washed down with mimosas or Bloody Mary’s.
  • Mélange is offering a grill kits serving up to six people and includes custom blend burger patties, brioche buns and all the accoutrements, sides like heirloom tomato-strawberry salad, and two pints of homemade ice cream. Pre-order here to pick up July 3 or 4.

Mélange also announced their new hand-spun milkshakes and Washingtonian Magazine is raving about them! To kick off the summer, Chef Elias Taddesse has introduced a new line of milkshakes that are inspired by the desserts he made as a chef at the storied Caviar Russe restaurant in Manhattan and are infused with flavors inspired by his memories of Ethiopia. Chef gets creative with flavors like toast (actually made with toasted bread), blending the frozen dessert into thick milkshakes inspired by peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Be sure to try them out and read the Washingtonian article to learn more!
