Hiroshi Jacobs Talks Inspiration & Process for One at Kids-Themed Art Event

Thursday November 14, 2019

The chill in the air this past Saturday made it a perfect day to enjoy a cup of hot apple cider inside of A Baked Joint while learning about art during a kids-themed arts and crafts event and artist meet-and-greet with Hiroshi Jacobs, the artist of One. After briefly learning about Hiroshi’s process for making art and his inspiration for One, artists of all ages quickly visited the art – located on the 300 & 400 blocks of K Street NW – before making their own take-home art inspired by the sculptures! The MVT CID extends its appreciation to A Baked Joint’s owners and staff for hosting this very special education event (see event photos) for what was clearly a talented group of emerging young artists!

Have you visited the artwork yet? One is a set of interactive sculptures designed to encourage conversation, build connections and deepen understanding on important topics that reflect current events with broad social impact. The installations are open on the 300 & 400 blocks of K Street NW between the hours of 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM. Share your photos by tagging @mvtcid and using the hashtags #PerspectivesMVT and #LifeInMVT!

Stay tuned for upcoming events and opportunities to engage in the conversation during our series of public programming events that we are calling Perspectives, inspired by One.
