MVT CID Leadership Talks Social Justice with International Downtown Association

Friday June 26, 2020

Last Monday, June 22, MVT CID President & CEO Kenyattah Robinson joined colleagues from New York City’s Harlem neighborhood as well as Los Angeles for a virtual open discussion on systemic racism, social justice and the continued demonstrations happening throughout our downtowns, center cities and neighborhood districts. Hosted by the International Downtown Association (IDA), the discussion provided peers across the country the chance to connect with other chief executives and explore how we can collectively accelerate our progress and make lasting commitments to our communities.

During the webinar, each speaker shared their experiences with demonstrations and and property destruction in their districts; how they are displaying sensitivity to their staff, members and constituents; and the types of conversations they are having with their Board of Directors and other civic officials.

Based in DC, IDA is a world leader and champion for vital and livable urban centers. Its members (including MVT CID) consist of 4,000+ place management organizations globally with 2,500 in North America.
