MVT Spotlight: Julio Postigo of Sol Mexican Grill

Friday March 8, 2019

In early January we celebrated new beginnings in MVT as we welcomed Sol Mexican Grill to 655 K Street NW! With two other locations in Atlas District and Foggy Bottom, Sol Mexican Grill offers a selection of tacos, burritos bowls and more in a casual dining environment. We recently asked owner Julio Postigo to tell us more about the restaurant and his decision to locate in Mount Vernon Triangle in this MVT Spotlight.

MVT CID: Julio, tell us about your decision to locate your restaurant in Mount Vernon Triangle?

JULIO: When determining where to open our third restaurant, our first choice was the Mount Vernon Triangle neighborhood. MVT is growing and developing quickly, has lots of foot traffic throughout the day and evening, and has a great, tight-knit community. It is also strategically located in the middle of our two other restaurants in Atlas District and Foggy Bottom.

MVT CID: Why did you name your restaurant “Sol Mexican Grill”?

JULIO: Sol is a very special word in Mexico, it means “sun”.

MVT CID: What is your favorite menu item that you serve at Sol?

JULIO: My all-time favorite menu item at Sol is the Carne Asada Quesadilla!

MVT CID: Any new additions to the menu down the road?

JULIO: We are currently working to include veggie options throughout our menu. Stay tuned!

MVT CID: Do you offer delivery or any catering services?

JULIO: Yes! We offer customers delivery through the Uber Eats app. We also have a catering service that is available on our website. Our catering menu includes a taco bar, an assortment of burrito platters, desserts, and more. Place your order online or by phone. We offer $10 off your first catering order so be sure to check it out!
