Registration Open for Our First MVT GroundWorks Volunteer Event at Plaza West on Saturday, July 27

Wednesday July 10, 2019

As announced previously in Triangle Times, the MVT CID has launched a new volunteer program called MVT GroundWorks—a great way give back while connecting with neighbors and fellow community members. Our first event is listed below along with details on how to register as a volunteer:

DATE: Saturday, July 27
TIME: 9am-Noon
ADDRESS: Plaza West, 307 K Street NW, Washington, DC 20005
DESCRIPTION: Looking to sink your hands into the soil as a volunteer in MVT? We are excited to welcome individuals, families* and groups as volunteers for a gardening project on Saturday, July 27 from 9am-Noon. Our first initiative will take place at Plaza West, an intergenerational housing development featuring family and senior housing. The “grandfamily” component of the project has 50 units reserved for grandparents who are raising the children of family members who, for a variety of reasons, are not able to do so themselves. For this project, volunteers will revitalize the landscaping around the exterior of the building in support of providing a more welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere to Plaza West residents.

REGISTER: Click to register here!

*Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
