Superheroes, Creative Pumpkins, Imaginative Dog Costumes Come Together for Fall Fun Day

Wednesday December 16, 2015

Mount Vernon Triangle came alive on October 31st for Fall Fun Day. Our Mini Monsters kids paraded down K Street, collecting treats from many of our local restaurants and businesses, while everyone enjoyed free apple cider from Busboys & Poets, fresh popcorn from 5th Street Ace Hardware, cookies and candy from the MVT CID and Safeway and  the best organic fruits and veggies from Chicano Sol Farm and the FRESHFARM Market. There was mini pumpkin painting and face painting for kids of all ages. We also had the first ever pumpkin decorating contest from our local businesses. Our dog costume contest was bigger than ever. Congratulations to The K at City Vista for their winning (and gruesome!) decorated pumpkin and to our Bumble Bee Bulldog on his big win in the dog costume contest. We also want to thank Wagtime DC for their dog costume parade gift basket and our judges – MidCity DC writer, Ellen Boomer; A Baked Joint’s Tessa Velazquez and Orangetheory Fitness’ Reggie Williams.
