Let the Season of Giving Begin!

We are continuously impressed by the immense generosity from members of the MVT community. With the spirit of the holidays in mind, we wanted to pass along some ways you can assist the less-fortunate this season starting with a food drive happening at the FRESHFARM MVT Market (5th & I Streets NW) for the next two Saturdays. Bring canned goods and non-perishables to the orange FRESHFARM tent at market this weekend and the next to drop your donations in the collection box. All of the the food items will be donated to Martha’s Table in time for Thanksgiving.

Additionally, FRESHFARM has launched their annual Fresh Food Drive. Help get fresh, local, nutritious food onto the tables of your neighbors in need this Thanksgiving by donating to FRESHFARM’s annual Fresh Food Drive! Throughout the month of November, FRESHFARM is raising money from farmers market shoppers and community members in support of the Fresh Food Drive. These funds are spent directly with local farmers and producers to purchase fresh fruits, vegetables, and turkeys, which are in turn donated to food recovery groups and emergency food assistance organizations to prepare Thanksgiving baskets or meals for neighbors in need.

And it doesn’t end there! We will be launching our annual Holiday Toy Drive at the end of November and a Winter Coat Drive in early January – stay tuned for more details and ways to give!
