“Tunes in the Triangle” Concerts Bring Free Music to MVT’s Lunch & Evening Experiences

Free, live music will fill the air and transform the pedestrian experience at lunchtime and during the commute home as the Mount Vernon Triangle Community Improvement District (MVT CID) launches a new concert series, “Tunes in the Triangle” in the Mount Vernon Triangle neighborhood of Washington, DC. The series, which features local artists of genres ranging from pop to jazz, is scheduled for the fourth Thursdays of May, June and July. The concerts are free and guests are encouraged to pack a picnic, bring a blanket or chair, friends, family, kids and pets. Evening concerts will include popular games – corn hole, hula hoops, bubbles and more – with free lemonade available and food offered for sale by favorite food trucks.

The concerts are scheduled (weather permitting) at two venues:Lunchtime concerts will be held at the 5th & K Street Plaza, NW (City Vista) from 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM.

May 28th – Ian Thomas – Top 40/R&B/Soul
June 25th – Phil Kominski – Top 40/Rock/Pop
July 23rd – Andrea Pais – Soul/R&B/Pop

Evening concerts will be held at Milian Park at Massachusetts Avenue & 5th Street, NW from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM.  

May 28th – Tom Lagana Group – Jazz
June 25th – Justin Trawick – Bluegrass/Roots
July 23rd – Alison Carney – Soul/R&B
