2018 Holiday Celebration Recap

Sunday December 23, 2018

Dozens of big elves, little elves and four-legged helpers stopped by a clear, dry and windy Milian Park yesterday for photos with Santa John and other goodies as part of the 2018 MVT Holiday Celebration. (View the MVT CID Flickr page for event photos). Revelers were greeted with festive holiday carols by the Figgy Puddings, sweet treats from A Baked Joint and hot chocolate from Chez Lily. Kids received take-home crafts from MVT CID and free age-appropriate books were provided courtesy ANC 6E Commissioners Alex Marriott and Alex Padro. CulturalDC also opened its Mobile Art Gallery so that guests could experience a special showing of Enduring Marks, a breathtaking new exhibit by DC-based sculptor and installation artist Nara Park. A sculptor and installation artist living and working in Washington, DC whose artwork was recently acquired by The Phillips Collection, Park is one of the area’s most prominent rising young artists. Special thanks to all who donated a toy to a child in need as part of Central Union Mission’s Operation Christmas Miracle. We appreciate your generosity toward our neighbors during the holiday season.
