2022 MVT Fall Fun Day Recap & Photos!
Thursday November 3, 2022
This past Saturday, the Mount Vernon Triangle Community Improvement District hosted its annual MVT Fall Fun Day. Dozens of costumed children, adults, and pets stopped by Milian Park to enjoy a beautiful sunny morning with friends, families and neighbors.
Attractions included face painting, balloon twisting, a mini pumpkin patch and decorating stations, and a 360 Photo Booth provided by MVT small business Sisterly Luv. MVT-fave Emma G was also on hand to provide a soulful soundtrack to the day and Mount Vernon Triangle businesses and residential properties (listed below) generously donated their time (and candy!) for the mini monsters parade—ensuring that both our mini monsters (and their big monsters!) left with full bags of sweets and treats.
The ever-popular Dog Costume Contest also drew out a large crowd of spectators gathered to cheer on the “paw”ticipants and find out who would be crowned the #1 “Halloweenie” in this year’s contest. Congrats to the following pups and their owners who took home the top prizes:
- First Place: “King Charles” (owner’s prize: $150 in gift certificates to spend at participating MVT businesses + a $50 sweetgreen gift card)
- Second Place: “Bad Dog Chai” (owner’s prize: $100 in gift certificates to spend at participating MVT businesses + a $50 sweetgreen gift card)
- Third Place: “Milo the Big Bad Wolf” (owner’s prize: $75 in gift certificates to spend at participating MVT businesses + a $50 sweetgreen gift card)
MVT CID extends special thanks to sweetgreen for its donation of $50 gift cards to the first, second, and third place winners of the Dog Costume Contest, and to bartaco for its donation of $50 gift cards to our two honorable mention fourth and fifth palce winners. Additional thanks to Dominque Haley of bartaco, Ward 6 liaison Jasmine Coilton of the Mayor’s Office of Community Relations and Services, and Rachelle Nigro of Advisory Neighborhood Commission 6E04 for graciously agreeing to judge this year’s contest.

Thank you to these MVT businesses and residential properties for generously donating candy and other sweet treats for the Mini Monsters Parade:
