Washington, DC will welcome heads of state, key partners, and delegates from 32 NATO member nations on Tuesday, July 9 – Thursday, July 11 for the 2024 NATO Summit. Numerous law enforcement agencies, including the Metropolitan Police Department and the United States Secret Service will be providing security for the event to ensure the safety of visiting dignitaries, attendees, and members of the public. Parking restrictions and road closures will be in affect Saturday, July 6 through Friday, July 12 that have potential for impacts to members of the MVT community.

Key Updates:
- 2024 NATO Summit will take place at Walter E. Washington Convention Center from Tuesday, July 9 through Thursday, July 11 (along with various other locations and times around DC)
- Parking Restrictions will be in affect starting 6am on Saturday, July 6 through 6pm on Friday, July 12
- Road closures will be in affect starting 9am on Monday, July 8 through Noon on Friday, July 12
- For people traveling by vehicle that require access to residential parking lots and business parking lots within the closure area, drivers will be required to enter at certain locations, show identification, and vehicles will be subject to inspection by law enforcement personnel
- Mt. Vernon Square Metro station will be closed starting 11am on Tuesday, July 9 through 5am on Friday, July 12

The NATO Summit has been designated a National Special Security Event (NSSE) and while there are no known threats the public is reminded to remain vigilant and to report emergencies by dialing 911, submit tips to the Real Time Crime Center by calling (202) 727-9099, and to share your anonymous texts to 50411.
