A Home for Wendy

Thursday April 22, 2021

On Emancipation Day in DC last Friday, April 16, MVT CID’s Kenyattah Robinson joined colleague Patty Brosmer of Capitol Hill BID to support our valued Clean Team member, Wendy, as she celebrated her own freedom to live independently in a clean, safe and affordable home of her own.

Apartment furnishings and equipment were provided to Wendy at no-cost by Capitol Hill BID through Ready, Willing & Working, a non-profit organization that empowers individuals to break the cycles of homelessness, welfare dependency and criminal recidivism through a paid-work rehabilitation program. As the largest non-profit provider of clean team services in DC and that now includes MVT CID as a customer, RWW offers programs and supportive services that allow individuals to achieve permanent self-sufficiency.

We’re all exceedingly proud of Wendy and all she’s overcome to achieve this tremendous milestone in her life. We’d like to congratulate Wendy on her new home and thank her for her continued hard work and dedication to our Mount Vernon Triangle community.
