Celebrate “20 Years of Mandu” with Curated Pop-up Dinners All Year Long!

Friday January 23, 2026

In 2006, Chef Danny Lee and his mother Chef Yesoon “Mama” Lee opened DC’s first Korean restaurant, Mandu in Dupont Circle. Five years later in 2011 the second Mandu location opened its doors in Mount Vernon Triangle — and is now the only location due to a devastating fire at the original spot in 2017. Consistently listed in the Michelin Guide and earning countless local and national accolades, Mandu has sewn itself into the fabric of the DC dining scene and continues to be an exemplary bastion of Korean comfort food 20 years on. To celebrate the monumental achievement of two decades in business, the team at Mandu are inviting guests to celebrate year-round with special monthly guest-chef collaboration dinners culminating in a blow-out end-of-the-year party. Limited tickets are still available for the inaugural dinner featuring Chefs Isabel Coss and Matt Conroy of Pascual. Reservations can be made via Resy and you can explore the menu on Instagram and Facebook. More dinners and details will be announced soon so be sure to be following @ManduDC on Instagram for the latest as well as bonus videos with Chef Danny that delve more into the history of Mandu, including this one that explains how the restaurant got its name!
