Cucina Morini & 2fifty Texas BBQ Named in Food & Wine Magazine’s “Best New Chefs Restaurant Guide”

Earlier this week, Food & Wine launched a new series that asks its former “Best New Chefs” to name their favorite restaurants and two MVT restaurants were among the ones chosen by 2021 Best New Chef Paola Velez of Providencia! The publication describes the new guide as “your insider pass to where the country’s most dynamic chefs cook — and where they love to eat. Meet the chefs, explore their restaurants and other local picks, and find your perfect match based on city and style.”

For her picks, Chef Velez zeroed in on 2fifty Texas BBQ for its sustainable food practices and dishes that nod to co-owners Fernando González and Debby Portillo’s El Salvadorian roots while she praised Cucina Morini for its affordable yet luxurious menu offerings saying, “Come for the $7 Martini, stay for the focaccia, the frutti di mare, and every single supple morsel of pasta that you can land on your fork.”
