dLeña Featured on PBS’s “Signature Dish”

Friday May 30, 2025

We are thrilled to announce that Mount Vernon Triangle’s very own dLeña scored a visit on a recent episode of PBS’s Signature Dish. The show “discovers and reveals the standout dishes at a wide array of the region’s best restaurants, from the latest dining hot spots to strip-mall eateries serving up authentic global cuisines” and in its third season, host Seth Tilman made his way to Washington DC to explore its culinary offerings. In the feature, head Chef Carlos Camacho walked Seth through the process of creating dLeña’s Tomahawk steak, which involves cooking the beef in the elevated Mexican restaurant’s signature charcoal and firewood ovens for 10 minutes before finishing it off with bone marrow butter, herbs, mezcal, and a blow fire torch at the table. You can watch the five-minute piece at pbs.org where you can also view full episodes of season three. Congrats to Chef Carlos and the entire dLeña team for this special visit, keep up the great work!
