Important Information Regarding Saturday’s Rock ‘n’ Roll DC Half Marathon + Related Road Closures

Thursday March 13, 2025

As a reminder, Saturday, March 15, the Rock ‘n’ Roll Half Marathon and 5K (course maps below) will take place in DC with parts of the race route coming through Mount Vernon Triangle. In conjunction with the event, there will be numerous parking restrictions and street closures, including the following that are specific to our area:

  • K Street NW from North Capitol Street NW to 4th Street NW from 6:30am until as late as 1:15pm; and
  • 4th Street NW from K Street NW to E Street NW from 6:30am until as late as 1:30pm.

Race organizers have informed the Mount Vernon Triangle CID that plans to help with traffic flow while these streets are closed will mirror those from last year, with uniformed Metropolitan Police Department traffic control officers stationed at the following locations:

  • Along 4-1/2 Street NW between I & K Streets NW to assist motorists impacted by the inability to access 4th Street NW (due to the race) and 5th Street NW (due to the FRESHFARM MVT Market) safely travel north up the one-way alley in the direction of K Street NW.
  • At 3rd & H Streets NW to assist motorists impacted by the inability to access 4th Street NW and K Street NW (both due to the race) safely travel south across H Street NW via 3rd Street NW.

For larger course maps and other important race and road closure information, check out the official event website, view this interactive map, and follow DC Police Traffic on Twitter.

Race organizers have recommended using the official event-sponsored Waze app as your navigation tool for the day, or use Metro on the morning of the event. Please be advised that street closures for this race can make it difficult to drive through the city – plan to give yourself extra time.
