DC Public Library Card:
This November, the DC Public Library invites our community to help create a special limited run of official DC Public Library cards. Show us what you love about the District – its neighborhoods, culture, people, history, or anything that you feel makes our city special.
This contest is designed as a joyful, community‑centered project that invites residents of all ages to express what they love about Washington, DC. Guided by DC Public Library’s commitment to cultivating delight and strengthening belonging across the District, the contest celebrates creativity at every level, from children who love to draw, to adults with a creative streak, we’re looking for people who simply want to share something meaningful about their city. It is not intended as a replacement for professional art opportunities, but rather as a chance for D.C. residents to see themselves and their neighborhoods reflected in a fun, welcoming, and inclusive community activity.
Community members of all ages are encouraged to participate. One winning design will be selected in each category: Kids, Teens, and Adults. Winning designs will be announced in the new year, and the new cards will be available to the public in celebration of National Library Week in April 2027.
Deadline: Tuesday, December 1
