Meet Soul Mega: Our Next FRESHFARM MVT Biergarten Guest Brewers!

Friday October 21, 2022

Founded by Howard University graduates Elliott Johnson and Jahi Wartts in 2019, Soul Mega is the second-oldest black-owned brewery in DC. The friends set out on a mission to “create a culture that embraces creativity and inclusion” and dream big with a name that literally means “the embodiment of something great.” Johnson & Wartts are a proud part of a growing black-owned brewers scene in DC that also includes next week’s FRESHFARM MVT Biergarten guest brewers (and first black woman-owned brewery in DC!) Urban Garden Brewing.

Currently, Soul Mega does not have a brick and mortar brewery of its own to sell products, but its brews will be available for purchase at this Saturday’s FRESHFARM MVT Biergarten from 9am-1pm, and every day at local Trader Joe’s as well as select restaurants around DC including celebrated MVT watering hole Bar Chinois.
