Michael White, Osteria Morini Chef, is Opening an Italian Restaurant in MVT

Thursday April 4, 2019

It’s been more than five years since The Altamarea Group owners debuted their first Washington eatery, Osteria Morini, in Capitol Riverfront. Now they’re ramping up again to open their latest venture in Mount Vernon Triangle: Nicoletta Italian Kitchen, a pizza and pasta-centric restaurant, opening mid-April on the ground-floor retail level of the DC Bar Building.

According to The Altamarea Group, the team and Chef Michael White were introduced to Mount Vernon Triangle more than a year ago through Robert Spagnoletti, CEO of DC Bar. He was familiar with their restaurants, both Osteria Morini in Capitol Riverfront, as well as the New York City locations, and started discussing the possibility of bringing one of our concepts to their new building. From there, the Altamarea Group brand development team began spending time in the area, and got to know – and love – it!

Nicoletta Italian Kitchen is a fresh, new neighborhood restaurant, offering familiar Italian classics in a comfortable and lively setting. The menu – consisting of seasonal salads and appetizers, house-made pastas, generously topped pizzas, as well as a selection of sandwiches and entrees – offers a perfect match for any appetite or occasion. Nicoletta Italian Kitchen is your spot for date night, a family dinner, celebration with friends, a lunch meeting, or a quick bite at the bar. With a focus on engaging and friendly service, perfectly executed classic dishes and an Italian inspired bar, the team at Nicoletta Italian Kitchen hope to ensure a memorable dining experience each and every time.

The Altamarea Group is also opening Brew’d, a cafe specializing in Italian coffees and grab-and-go food items right next door to Nicoletta.

We are thrilled to have such wonderful neighbors, welcome to the CID and we look forward to the opening in a few short weeks!
