MVT Chefs Honored with James Beard Nominations

Dubbed “the Oscars of the food world,” the James Beard Foundation announced yesterday the nominations for its 2025 James Beard Awards Semifinalists and among them are three MVT-based chefs! Major congratulations are in order for 2fifty BBQ Lead Pitmaster Fernando Gonzalez and Cucina Morini Executive Chef Matt Adler for being nominated in the “Best Chef: Mid-Atlantic” category; and to Mandu Chef Danny Lee who along with partner Scott Drewno were nominated in the “Outstanding Restauranteur” category for their “The Fried Rice Collective” that includes restaurants Anju, Chiko, and I Egg You.

We are so honored that so many incredibly talented and diverse chefs have trusted Mount Vernon Triangle as the place they practice their craft and share their gift with the world, and are thrilled to see their skills acknowledged on the national stage — you make MVT proud!
