MVT CID Celebrates Parks & Partnerships at 2026 Annual Meeting & Releases FY 2025 Annual Report

At its 2026 Annual Meeting on Wednesday, July 29, Mount Vernon Triangle Community Improvement District (MVT CID) staff, stakeholders, partners, friends, and other invited guests gathered at the recently opened 111 Massachusetts Avenue NW Building on Georgetown University’s Capitol Campus to celebrate and reflect on a year of successes, and to look ahead at MVT CID’s shifting role from building a neighborhood to stewarding a community.
The meeting also included release of the FY 2025 Annual Report as well as these key highlights:
- Meeting called to order by MVT CID Board Chair & RASA Co-Founder Rahul Vinod, who later presented the organization’s FY 2025 financial results.
- Host welcome by Georgetown University VP for Government Relations and Community Engagement Adrea Turner.
- Video opening remarks by Ward 6 Councilmember Charles Allen.
- A “State of the CID” address by MVT CID President & CEO Kenyattah Robinson highlighting Mount Vernon Triangle’s development, fiscal, and quality-of-life impacts since its formation in 2003, and its new era of community stewardship now that the Action Agenda has neared full build-out.
- Thought-provoking keynote conversation with Georgetown University’s Uwe Brandesfocused on “The Future of Place: From Building a Neighborhood to Shaping What Comes Next”.
- Presentation of the 2026 Community Partner of the Year Award to Bennett Group, Oak Ridge Landscaping and Construction, and Throne in recognition of their key contributions to the construction and operations of Cobb Park.
- Presentation of the 2026 Community Stakeholder of the Year Award to Adrian Bascom, MVT CID Board Member and General Manager of Hampton Inn by Hilton, Downtown DC Convention Center DC, in recognition of his service to MVT CID by housing our staff and Clean Team during multiple winter weather events; and to Georgetown University for its commitment to and investment in their Capitol Campus.
- Presentation of the 2026 Community Champion of the Year Award to MVT resident Tommy McFly for his unwavering support of the visioning, funding, construction, (and occasional operations!) of Cobb Park.
MVT CID Board Secretary & Director of Operations at K Street Development Company, LLC (owner of Restaurant dLeña) Tom McDowell announced that the 11 individuals below were elected by unanimous vote of the organization’s Members to serve on its Board of Directors:
- Matt Butler (Renewal Candidate), Chief Operating Officer at D.C. Bar
- Travoris Culpepper (New Candidate), Manager, External Affairs at Pepco
- Jimmy Dodson (Renewal Candidate), Executive Vice President / Senior Project Manager, Paradigm
- David Germakian (Renewal Candidate), Senior Vice President, Regional Lead, Mid-Atlantic Region at EDENS
- Nico Hohman (New Candidate), Executive Director of Operations at Georgetown University Capitol Campus
- Amy LeFaivre-Dolan (New Candidate), Vice President of Residential Operations at Quadrangle
- Tom McDowell (Renewal Candidate), Director of Operations at K Street Development Company, LLC
- Vera McPherson (Renewal Candidate), Vice President at W.H.H. Trice & Co.

After the meeting, guests were invited to stay for a reception and enjoy beautiful views of the U.S. Capitol and surrounding neighborhood, beverages and bites provided by L’Ardente, and music from local artist and electric cellist Benjamin Gates.
