MVT GroundWorks: Winter Warm Up Clothing Drive Recap

Wednesday January 22, 2020

MVT CID once again partnered with area residential and commercial properties to help keep neighbors warm during these chilly winter months through our Winter Warm Up Clothing Drive. We collected more than 300 pounds – 100 more pounds than last year – of new or gently used hats, gloves, blankets, jackets and socks for clients of Central Union MissionSo Others Might Eat (SOME)Community for Creative Non-Violence (CCNV), and Bread for the City. We extend our gratitude to residents and office workers at the following properties for rallying on behalf of our neighbors in need:

The Winter Warm Up Clothing Drive is another example of how the MVT CID, through our MVT GroundWorks initiative, seeks to responsibly contribute to unmet societal needs through partnership with stakeholders and community partners.

Please remember that if you encounter a neighbor who is experiencing homelessness and needs assistance, to call the DC Shelter Hotline at (202) 399-7093. You’re under no obligation to engage or interact with the citizen and your assistance will go a long way toward helping them receive safe and warm housing assistance.
