MVT Neighbors Collaborate at the Prather’s Alley Community Meeting

Friday March 8, 2019

Thank you to the many members of our MVT community who braved the bitter cold weather to share your valuable opinions and ideas at late January’s design workshop on potential approaches for transforming 4-1/2 Street NW and Prather’s Alley into vibrant public spaces. For those unable to attend the workshop, we invite you to participate in the experience through these event photos as well as this news article from the local real estate blog UrbanTurf.

The workshop aligned with our core MVT CID belief that creating equitable and inclusive spaces that everyone can enjoy requires the entire community participate in a publicly transparent process of deciding what those spaces could and should be, and for whom. And that’s why the MVT CID, EL Studio and UrbanSEED project team will next combine the feedback gathered at last night’s workshop, the results of a November community survey and international best practices to generate multiple design concepts for further public refinement. Please stay tuned for more news and further updates in our Triangle Times e-newsletter and follow us @mvtcid on FacebookTwitter and Instagram.

Thank you again for your participation and engagement, and please don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions or to share your perspective.
