Recent Washington Business Journal Articles Highlight MVT CID’s Evolving Stewardship Role Today & Vision for What’s Next

Tuesday September 8, 2026

In this recent Washington Business Journal profile, MVT CID President & CEO Kenyattah Robinson reflected on 10 years of leading the Mount Vernon Triangle Community Improvement District (MVT CID) that brought with it the realization of Cobb Park, and delivery of nearly 90% of the neighborhood’s current end-state development capacity per the framework Mount Vernon Triangle Action Agenda. Now, he’s looking ahead to what it means for the organization to steward a community that has arrived and is searching for continued growth, saying: “We’ve gone from building, building, building… and now we’re going into a phase of stewardship, of thinking about what’s next?”

One of those future projects was highlighted in a separate Washington Business Journal article where it was announced MVT CID will lead a feasibility study for the parking deck located near 2nd & H Streets NW. With the strong support of Ward 6 Councilmember Charles Allen, the DC Council recently earmarked $250,000 for the project in its Fiscal Year 2027 budget, with results from the study potentially leading to new community amenities and open space or additional housing.

Both articles are behind a paywall, however, they can be accessed by anyone with a DC library card via the DC Public Library website.
