Temporary Road Closures Coming to New York Avenue NW between First Street NW and Fourth Street NW Starting Saturday, July 13

Wednesday July 3, 2019

The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) is scheduled to temporarily close single lanes of traffic on New York Avenue NW between First Street NW and Fourth Street NW starting on or about Saturday, July 13, 2019, weather permitting. The closures and restrictions are needed for traffic signal work as a part of the safety improvements for the New Jersey Avenue NW project. This work is expected to take one week to complete.

The temporary lane closures will occur during off-peak hours, 9:30am to 3:30pm, Monday through Friday. Saturday work may also take place between 8am and 5pm. At least two lanes will be open to the traffic in each direction at all times.

Traffic controls will be in place to guide motorists through the work zone area safely. Motorists should anticipate delays due to the lane closures. Drivers are advised to stay alert while traveling to this location and to be observant of road work crews.
