That’s A “Wrap” On Another Successful Plaza West Holiday Gift Drive!

Friday December 19, 2025

Yesterday the MVT CID Clean Team loaded up the truck… we mean sleigh to deliver the toys, bikes, winter jackets, and other requested items to Plaza West ahead of the residents’ evening holiday party. Thanks to this community’s incredible generosity, almost every child received at least one of their requested items and the Mount Vernon Triangle Community Foundation raised enough funds to cover the cost of getting a $50 gift card for all of the children that did not request a physical gift. A total of $5,025 in cash and in-kind donations was raised from 51 generous donors, contributing through 85 individual donations. We are so grateful that the spirit of generosity endures despite this year’s headwinds and that we continue to reach out and support one another even through difficult circumstances.

MVT CID President & CEO Kenyattah Robinson stopped by the Plaza West Holiday Party yesterday evening to deliver brief remarks, share glad tidings with the “grams” on the success of the gift drive, and thank them for being a valued member of the Mount Vernon Triangle community. Joining him were colleagues Grace Aucella and Kaitlin Demonbreun who managed the day-to-day operations of the toy drive including working with the residents to create their wish lists, tracking and managing the online orders, and wrapping presents and assembling bicycles as packages arrived to the office. We are honored to receive an invite to this party every year and love that we get to make the holiday season just a little bit brighter for so many deserving families thanks to the generosity of our community.
