The Hits Continue for A Baked Joint, Baan Siam and Mélange!

Thursday October 22, 2020

Mount Vernon Triangle’s star as a foodie destination continues to rise, with new restaurants joining those that have continued to operate during the pandemic to provide plenty of diverse options to sip, taste and savor. This isn’t lost on Eater DC and the Washington City Paper, which both recently featured three of our restaurants in their listings of notable area hot spots.

Eater DC’s recently released list of the 25 most exciting new restaurants to try around DC includes two of Mount Vernon Triangle’s recently-opened restaurants, Mélange and Baan Siam. Both restaurants have opened since the start of the pandemic and have welcomed diners whether that be indoors, outdoors, or via takeout and delivery.

Melangé once again made headlines, this time joined by A Baked Joint in Washington City Paper’s listing of its 12 their favorites sandwiches from local restaurants. Built for being enjoyed outdoors in parks, on porches or balconies, and around fire pits, sandwiches are most certainly the new comfort food. In this case, “The National” at Melangé and meatloaf at A Baked Joint both were said to inspire “a small source of joy during the COVID-19 pandemic.”
