The Reports Are In: 2Fifty Texas BBQ is Worth the Wait!

Friday January 19, 2024

MVT’s newest restaurant, 2Fifty Texas BBQ, officially opened its doors to a line of barbecue enthusiasts 60-deep on Saturday, January 13 and sold 800 pounds of meat during its opening weekend, according to Eater D.C. The 414 K Street NW restaurant is the second location for co-owners and husband & wife team Fernando González and Debby Portillo González whose original spot in Riverdale Park, Maryland put them on the map and made them a juggernaut in the barbecue community. Live video of the Riverdale Park all-wood smokers can be seen at the Mount Vernon Triangle location as patrons wait to order trays of wagyu and prime brisket, tender beef ribs, smoked turkey, snappy house-made sausages, and more all sold by the pound. A rotating selection of sides are also available – many of which are inspired by the González’s Salvadorian roots. See what the buzz is all about and treat yourself to a tray Wednesdays – Mondays from 11am – 7pm or until they sell out!
