The Great Ward 6 Spring Clean
April 2 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am EDT
Join Ward 6 Councilmember Charles Allen and your neighbors for a little spring cleaning around the neighborhood. We’d love a few extra pair of hands to make the work a little lighter.
When? Saturday, April 2, 9-11 am
Where? In Neighborhoods All Over Ward 6!
You can clean up your block or alley, around your building, or join us at any of the five organized locations around Ward 6:
- Anacostia River Trail Entrance (17th and Barney Circle, SE)
- Garfield Park (with a possible walk to Eastern Market Metro Park)
- Sherwood Rec Center (640 10th, NE)
- King Greenleaf Rec Center (201 N St., SW)
- 1000 Block of 13th, SE (near Hopkins and Potomac Gardens)
Why? Because we’ve all been cooped up for two years and it’s time to reconnect with each other and with our neighborhoods and do a little spring cleaning!
I’ll need some trash bags and gloves. We’ve got you covered! We’ll be distributing bags and gloves Friday, April 1 (no joke) from 4-5:30 pm at Eastern Market Metro Park near the entrance to the metro. Look for the big blue tent. Big thanks to the Mayor’s Office of the Clean City and Frager’s Hardware for providing bags and gloves for the event.
How do I join in? RSVP online to let us know where you’ll be cleaning up at CharlesAllenWard6.com/GreatWard6SpringClean and so we can have the right amount of trash bags and gloves. But if you can’t RSVP, it’s fine to just show up that morning!
