EATER DC: “A New Rooftop Tapas Bar Hopes to Open Near Convention Center By the Spring,” February 17, 2021

From the article:

A new hotel in Mt. Vernon Triangle has put all the finishing touches on a glitzy, penthouse-style bar and restaurant space, but it won’t be open to the public until D.C.’s public health restrictions permit more people inside.

AC Hotel, the modernist, Marriott-owned chain originally founded by Spanish entrepreneur Antonio Catalan, opened its DC Convention Center location in September with plans to add multiple dining venues. The location’s website lists an Estrella Rooftop Lounge and an AC Lounge where customers could drink gin and tonics or sample Spanish tapas “with unique local flair.” Instead of opening up either of those businesses while D.C. limits indoor dining capacity to 25 percent, the AC at 601 K Street NW is hoping to bring in whatever revenue it can with private buyouts.
