MVTogether Fund

About the MVTogether Fund

Together.

It’s the one word that describes the character displayed by our Mount Vernon Triangle community throughout the COVID-19 public health emergency.

From delivering groceries and other critical necessities to our most vulnerable neighbors at the start of the pandemic, to displaying consistent mutual self-respect by wearing masks in public and practicing safe social distancing as the months wore on, our community demonstrated the best of what it means to say #MVTogether.

With the worst of the pandemic seemingly now behind us and signs of recovery on the horizon, our local businesses – which received your steadfast support through takeout and delivery orders, gift card purchases, and virtual tip jars – are still in need of our help. The ripple effects from the past year will be with us for the foreseeable future. This makes the ultimate measuring stick for our businesses not just whether they have survived the pandemic. But whether they actually thrive for years to come. But in the near term, costs to relaunch and scale operations are an inevitable and unavoidable reality for businesses seeking to meet consumer demand and remain competitive as the District continues to reopen.

And that’s why we’ve launched the MVTogether Fund. Donations to the fund will provide microgrants to deserving Mount Vernon Triangle businesses as they work to relaunch and recover from the devastating economic impacts of COVID-19. Grants will be awarded on a revolving basis as funds are available. Mount Vernon Triangle businesses already pre-approved to receive funding through previous municipal pandemic relief programs sponsored by the District of Columbia government will be eligible to participate.

No amount is too small, and all donations will be appreciated by our resilient Mount Vernon Triangle businesses that remained there for us since March 2020. Now, let’s be there for them.
