“Discover Chinatown Parks” at Rescheduled Chinatown Community Festival: Saturday, July 7

Friday June 15, 2018

On Saturday, July 7 from 11am-2pm, the Mayor’s Office on Asian and Pacific Islander Affairs (MOAPIA) invites you to explore everything that our dynamic and diverse community has to offer at its annual Chinatown Community Festival. Originally scheduled for Saturday, June 2, the event was postponed due to predictions of inclement weather. Look for the MVT CID table while you’re there and say hi to receive a free gift!

Come to Chinatown Park and experience the tastes, sounds and feel of Asia with an activity line-up that includes:

  • Local Street food vendors
  • Lively performances including Wushu, a lion dance and a dog tricks show
  • Tinikling, rice flour drawing, kimono dressing, and other cultural demonstrations
  • Live screen printing
  • Fitness demonstrations
  • Free face painting, balloon twisting, henna, other Asian arts and crafts
  • And more!

The Chinatown Community Festival is just one of many examples of the free community programming that MOAPIA, the MVT CID and the DowntownDC Business Improvement District have partnered to once again return this spring and summer to Chinatown Park and Milian Park (5th Street & Massachusetts Avenue NW) from May through September. View the program flyer for the full line-up of events, and plan your visits to Discover Chinatown Parks at 5th & Mass!
