MVT Celebrates and Reflects this Juneteenth

Friday June 19, 2020

Given the importance of Juneteenth in American history, and in light of the many recent and long-overdue conversations on race in America, we have suspended our clean team operations and made today a paid holiday to provide our hard working team members an opportunity for commemoration and reflection. MVT CID administrative staff will be online and on-call throughout the day and can be contacted at info@mvtcid.org or (202) 216-0511 ext. 1 for any service needs.

In addition, Mount Carmel Baptist Church is hosting the virtual conversation, “Identifying Self-Worth: Being Black in 2020 and Beyond,” at 8pm tonight, June 19. Located in Mount Vernon Triangle, Mount Carmel Baptist Church was founded in 1876, just 11 years after the official end of slavery in America on June 19, 1865. The event is free and open to all. RSVP using the instructions in the image.
