The Clean Team vs. Snowmageddon

Thursday February 25, 2016

The MVT CID Clean Team took on the January blizzard and the storms that followed and received kudos and thank you’s from all around the Triangle for their hard work and dedication. Members of the team stayed overnight at the CID’s office throughout the blizzard, working to stay ahead of the blowing snow and keeping sidewalks and ramp cuts clear.  Our property owners did an excellent job as well, complying with the District’s new Winter Sidewalk Safety Act, and contacting the Clean Team to ask for a hand (and a shovel) when the owners themselves couldn’t get to the property. The Winter Sidewalk Safety Act imposes a fine on District property owners who fail to remove snow and ice from the sidewalks, curb cuts and curb ramps abutting their property within 8 hours of day light after snow has stopped falling.
