“Together” the Themes of MVT CID 2020 Annual Meeting & FY 2019 Annual Report

Friday July 31, 2020

Despite the need to be apart due to COVID-19, that didn’t detract from the overall message regarding the importance of staying together during the 2020 Virtual Annual Meeting of the Mount Vernon Triangle Community Improvement District (MVT CID) on Tuesday, July 28. Featured at the meeting were the:

  • release of the FY 2019 MVT CID Annual Report highlighting recent programmatic and financial results as well as on-going organizational efforts;
  • results of the Membership votes for MVT CID’s Board of Directors and to amend the organization’s bylaws; and
  • announcements of Metropolitan Police Department First District Officer Toby Green as Community Partner of the Year and Oubab Khalil and Lama Hamoudi – owners of Tropical Smoothie Café and Chez Lily – as Community Stakeholders of the Year award recipients

Meeting participants included the MVT CID Board of Directors, staff, business and property owners, and community partners.

The meeting included keynote remarks from John Falcicchio, MVT CID resident, Chief of Staff to Mayor Muriel Bowser and—at the time—Acting Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development. After the event he was affirmed as Deputy Mayor by the DC Council. The meeting also included opening remarks by Berk Shervin, MVT CID Chairman of the Board; a “State of the CID” presentation by Kenyattah Robinson, MVT CID President & CEO; and a presentation of Clean Team Awards by Kristi Whitfield, Director of the District Department Small & Local Business Development.
