Volunteers Make a Difference at Walker-Jones on Beautification Day

Tuesday September 16, 2014

Dozens of volunteers showed up at the Walker-Jones Education Campus to participate in DC Beautification Day. This annual DCPS event was established in 2005 as a citywide “spruce up” of all DC public school buildings in preparation for the first day of school. Beautification efforts included landscaping, trash pick-up, light painting, planting flowers, and other external beautification efforts. Volunteers and supplies supported over 100 schools. MVT CID Director of Operations, Leon Johnson, was there to help and reported a very strong and enthusiastic community response. Remember to check on our Community Action page for volunteer and donation needs throughout our community.
