Coming to Mount Vernon Triangle: Chef Geoff’s

Friday April 24, 2026

We hope you’re hungry, MVT! Washington Business Journal broke the news earlier this week that local restauranteur (and Georgetown University alum!) Chef Geoff Tracy is set to open the third location of his popular Chef Geoff’s restaurant at Georgetown University’s newly renovated 111 Massachusetts Avenue NW later this year or early next. The 5,500-square-foot space will accommodate seating for an estimated 185 diners and will feature a patio area and views of the Capitol Dome.

Citing the recently opened Cobb Park as one of the things that drew him to the space, Tracy was quoted in the article saying, “I like that area, and it just came up that Georgetown had a space available, and the conversation got going… That segment of town has changed. Cobb Park has just been redone, and Georgetown University is making a lot of investment in their Capitol Campus, so I think, in many ways, I’m getting in, maybe not on the ground floor, but maybe on the second.”

We’re so excited to see the next chapter of Mount Vernon Triangle begin to unfold as the neighborhood continues to evolve in meaningful ways. And with Chef Geoff’s—a long-standing DC favorite known for its approachable, community-oriented dining—joining the mix, that momentum only grows.

We’re proud to see MVT continue to attract operators who recognize both where we’ve been and where we’re headed. We look forward to sharing more updates as we get them, and possibly sharing a burger or drink with you at Chef Geoff’s in the near future!
