Explore MVT’s Two Parklets on Friday, September 19th

Tuesday September 16, 2014

Stop by Alba Osteria and 5th Street Ace Hardware between 9:30 am and 2:30 pm on Friday, September 19th, as they join businesses all around DC in creating mini-parks out of parking spaces. The tiny pop-up parklets (see DC Office of Planning 2013 parklet, left) are designed to invite people walking by to stop and relax in a creative outdoor space. At Alba, you can try your hand at bocce ball competition and then return for a neighborhood pig roast that evening. 5th Street Ace Hardware will build an original pallet town constructed from pallets and lumber with tables and seating available for guests to relax while sipping complimentary cold coffee. 5th Street Ace will also provide 16″ x 16″ wallboard tiles for individuals to paint and for Ace to display as a large, community made art piece during the Color the K Hardware Art Show on September 27th.
