First Snowfall of the Year is No Match for MVT Clean Team!

Friday January 19, 2024

We “snow” we have the best Clean Team around!

Arriving in the neighborhood before dawn on Tuesday, January 16, the seven-person team tackled the snow and ice in the public right-of-way and other non-commercial areas in time for the early morning commute and coffee runs! And it doesn’t stop there; even with the snow and cold our team maintains their daily trash routes. On Wednesday alone this week, the team removed 90 bags of trash from the neighborhood! We thank you Charles, Dewey, “Mr. Brown,” Parnell, Sam, William, and Supervisor Jimmie for your tireless dedication to maintaining a clean and safe neighborhood for all who live in, work in, and visit Mount Vernon Triangle.

With another storm predicted to come through the area tomorrow, the team is already preparing as shown in the below photo of the 30 bags of eco-friendly ice melt purchased locally earlier today at Frager’s Hardware on Capitol Hill. As a reminder: DC law requires residential and commercial property owners to remove snow/ice from the sidewalks around their property within the first eight hours of daylight after a storm ends. But if you see an area that could use a little extra attention, don’t hesitate to email us at info@mvtcid.org and we’ll check it out.
