MVT CID Celebrates Mid-Block Crossing with CM Allen, DDOT & ANC 6E

On Friday, November 3, dozens of area residents, retailers and workers joined Ward 6 Councilmember Charles Allen and staff, Acting DDOT Director Jeff Marootian and staff, Advisory Neighborhood Commission 6E Commissioners Alex Marriott, Kevin Rogers and Alex Padro, and the MVT CID to celebrate completion of the 4-1/2 & K streets NW mid-block crossing.

Occurring just before Councilmember Allen’s Community Office Hours at A Baked Joint, the event memorialized the years of stakeholder advocacy and multi-organization partnership that led to the project’s consideration, approval and execution. A multi-stakeholder ribbon cutting marked the project’s ceremonial dedication with a maiden voyage-style walk across K Street following immediately after.
