MVT CID Testifies at DC Council Roundtable on Importance of BIDS/CIDS

Sunday October 30, 2016

On Friday, October 14, MVT CID President & CEO Kenyattah Robinson testified before a DC Council roundtable on business improvement districts’ (BIDs) important role in supporting local business development. The MVT CID was the first BID to include residential properties in its tax structure, which is reflected in the fact that we call ourselves a “community improvement district” (CID). Kenyattah’s testimony before the newly created Subcommittee on Local Business Development and Utilities, chaired by Ward 6 Councilmember Charles Allen, detailed the assistance that the MVT CID provides in supporting local business development by creating an environment that encourages local business development; supporting the attraction and retention of office users and retail tenants; and giving great focus and attention to the ongoing sustainment of our neighborhood including providing daily clean and safe services.
