MVT CID Welcomes Commander McLean to MPD’s First District

Friday July 30, 2021

The MVT CID extends a warm welcome to Ralph McLean, the new Commander of MPD’s First District which includes Mount Vernon Triangle. With 38 years of leadership and service within MPD and across the city, Cmdr. McLean is the department’s longest-tenured active member.

To further the organization’s already-strong partnership with MPD’s First District, which started with Chief Robert Contee and continued under Assistant Chief Morgan Kane (when both were First District Commanders), MVT CID’s Kenyattah Robinson earlier today met with Cmdr. McLean at his office to discuss a myriad of subjects important to the continued safety and well-being of our Mount Vernon Triangle community. And because no official visit is complete without passing out MVT swag, Cmdr. McLean was also provided a FRESHFARM MVT Market bag for his shopping needs as well as a Mount Vernon Triangle neighborhood map by Terratorie (formerly Cherry Blossom Creative) to add vibrancy to the walls of his newly acquired office!

Whether its participating in an upcoming MVT CID Safety Council meeting with our property and business representatives, or introducing himself to the community during the next meeting of Advisory Neighborhood Commission 6E, Cmdr. McLean expressed his sincere eagerness to working with all stakeholders in support of Mount Vernon Triangle’s continued public safety.

We welcome Cmdr. McLean to his new role at First District and look forward to our continued close work together for the benefit of our Mount Vernon Triangle community in the years to come!
