MVT CID’s Grace Aucella Selected for IDA Emerging Leaders Fellowship

Friday June 5, 2026

MVT CID’s Marketing & Events Manager Grace Aucella (pictured above) is off to New York City next week to participate in the International Downtown Association’s (IDA’s) Emerging Leaders Fellowship program. This experiential program will bring together a cohort of 30 urban district management industry professionals for a week of honing leadership and management skills, networking, and gaining practical knowledge in areas of place-based economic development and public-private partnerships. This fellowship provides an excellent opportunity to build meaningful relationships with place making professionals from across the globe and close to home as Grace will be joined by three other colleagues from the DC-area: Ballston BID’s Pinky Advani, Southwest BID’s Zachary Baldwin, and DowntownDC BID’s Ellouise Johnson. Grace will apply the knowledge gained during the week in New York to the continued betterment of Mount Vernon Triangle.

Grace is the second MVT CID staff member to participate in the prestigious program, with President & CEO Kenyattah Robinson selected to its second cohort in 2017.

Although Grace will be away don’t worry: next week’s Triangle Times is still on track to come out on time thanks to the assistance of MVT CID 2026 summer intern Madison — a Journalism and Political Science student from the University of Missouri — who started earlier this week. Welcome, Madison; we’re thrilled to have you!
