Reminder: Vaccine Mandate Goes into Effect Tomorrow

Friday January 14, 2022

As mentioned in last week’s Triangle Times, proof of vaccination is required to enter some of your favorite Mount Vernon Triangle establishments beginning 6am tomorrow, January 15. The following establishment types will be required to verify that patrons ages 12 and older have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine:

  • Restaurants, bars and nightclubs
  • Indoor cultural and entertainment facilities
  • Indoor exercise and recreational establishments
  • Indoor event and meeting establishments

In preparation for the enactment, the Bowser Administration held a virtual town hall on Tuesday to provide an overview of the mandate and answer questions. Starting Tuesday, February 15 – one month post-implementation – individuals age 12 and older will then be required to show proof of full vaccination (i.e., two doses of the COVID-19 vaccination).
