“Taste of MVT” & PARK(ing) Day Recap

Wednesday September 25, 2019

Thanks to all of our neighbors and stakeholders that joined us for ”Taste of MVT” at PARK(ing) Day last week! PARK(ing) Day is a global event that occurs annually on the third Friday of September and is aimed at reclaiming on-street parking spaces by temporarily transforming them into exciting and imaginative park spaces or parklets. The MVT CID parklet was stationed adjacent to Milian Park near the intersection of 5th & Eye Streets NW. Coverage and photos of our parklet can be read in these round-ups by Greater Greater Washington and the National Complete Streets Coalition, a program of Smarth Growth America that works to ensure that everyone has safe, comfortable and convenient access to streets.

“Taste of MVT” invested in our local and small businesses, encouraged community building and fostered connections within our neighborhood. The MVT CID featured food tastings from seven MVT restaurants and retailers while rotating the type of food and beverages served to give people a full taste of #LifeInMVT!
