Tuesday September 16, 2014

Walkingtown DC returns to Mount Vernon Triangle with MVT CID President, Claire Oleksiak, leading the free “Heart of the City” tour. Join us on Sunday morning, September 21st, at 10 am to explore the neighborhood and learn about its history and coming development. This tour will include descriptions of the once iconic Northern Liberties Market and other existing historic buildings, a visit to one of DC’s original commercial alleys, Prather’s Alley, and discussion of the social and economic forces that led to MVT’s original development, period of decline and current revitalization. The tour will end with a rooftop visit at the Lyric 440K featuring a birds-eye view of DC. Meet at the entrance to the Carnegie Library, along K Street between 7th and 8th Street, NW.
